A Belgian public sector organisation coordinates information systems used by police services for judicial investigations, screening, enterprise data and criminal-record checks. As an IT Project Manager, you will steer several government and regulatory projects, converting operational needs into functional and technical specifications and coordinating multidisciplinary teams using Agile, Scrum and Waterfall approaches.
The mission
The Business Unit Research prioritises information and search requirements across police departments and external partners, including Justice. Its current portfolio includes Verif, a set of screening initiatives; My Bike, which lets citizens register bicycles and enables direct police consultation; KBO, an interface to the Crossroads Bank for Enterprises; updates required by the new Penal Code; and an application for consulting and retrieving criminal records. These applications support operational work, so delivery must combine clear governance with regulatory and data protection controls. The portfolio covers both new functionality and maintenance of existing services.
Your day-to-day scope will cover several projects in parallel, from framing and requirements analysis through design, validation, change adoption and follow-up after release. You will run steering committees, coordinate internal and external contributors, manage staffing and incidents, and keep decisions, risks, dependencies and milestones visible. You will also prepare dashboards and performance indicators, organise training for users and colleagues, and complete data protection impact assessments where required. The team is multidisciplinary, with internal and external members, and your work connects operational police needs with delivery teams and partner organisations.
