A major banking organisation is strengthening its Marketing and Communications function with a senior Strategic Communications Manager who connects business priorities to clear, coordinated communication. The role covers strategic communication, corporate communication and change communication for large bank-wide programmes, combining senior stakeholder management, communication advice and project management from strategy through implementation.

Communication supports strategic priorities by giving employees, customers and other stakeholders a clear understanding of what is changing, why it matters and what is expected. The function operates across a complex banking environment, where initiatives involve multiple business areas, expert teams and senior decision-makers. This role turns business context and challenges into a practical communication strategy that supports adoption and organisational outcomes.
As the senior Strategic Communications Manager, you will assess complex requests, define the communication approach and guide delivery across bank-wide and transversal initiatives. You will develop integrated communication strategies for complex business challenges, advise and constructively challenge senior stakeholders, and align multidisciplinary contributors around clear choices. You will retain ownership of scope, planning, risks, dependencies and stakeholder expectations so that communication programmes move from agreed direction to consistent execution.
Your responsibilities
- Translate complex business objectives into integrated communication strategies, clear communication plans and measurable actions.
- Advise and constructively challenge senior stakeholders on communication priorities, desired outcomes and stakeholder impact.
- Lead and coordinate large communication, change and transformation programmes across business areas, delivering agreed messages and actions with stakeholder alignment.
- Define communication frameworks, core messages, audience strategies, channel strategies and activation strategies for different stakeholder groups.
- Facilitate workshops with stakeholders and project teams to build alignment and support shared decisions.
- Control scope, timelines, risks, dependencies and stakeholder expectations while mobilising multidisciplinary teams to execute the plan.
Your profile
Essential skills
- Bring at least 10 years of relevant experience in strategic communications, corporate communication, change communication or communication consulting.
- Understand business context and challenges and apply bank-wide, transversal thinking to communication decisions.
- Demonstrate senior stakeholder management and influence decision-makers without relying on hierarchical authority.
- Combine analytical thinking, creativity, maturity, resilience and persuasiveness when handling complex initiatives.
- Use strong project management skills to structure communication programmes, coordinate dependencies and maintain delivery focus.
- Translate strategy into clear messages and practical actions for employees, customers and other stakeholder groups.
