Data Engineer Power BI Azure (Senior)

A public utility organisation is developing business reporting across finance, customer service, human resources and regulatory needs. This senior data engineer designs and implements Microsoft and Databricks solutions, combining Azure Data Factory, data lakes, data warehouses and Power BI.

The mission

Reporting draws on SAP ECC6, SAP IS-U and other sources, including legacy technologies such as Software AG and WinDev. The scope covers financial reporting, customer-service analysis, HR dashboards for absence and workplace accidents, annual CSRD and Taxonomy reporting, and regulatory reporting.

You translate business needs into a data solution covering ETL, data architecture, data consumption, data publication and forecasting. You follow the run and operational maintenance of the Microsoft and Databricks environment, while improving the data architecture with data management colleagues. All work follows the defined architecture and applicable GDPR, ISO 27001 and NIS2 requirements.

Your responsibilities

• Design Power BI solutions from identified business needs.
• Implement integrated reports, dashboards and alerts across Azure and Databricks.
• Build data flows across ETL, data lakes, warehouses and consumption layers.
• Support finance, customer service, HR and regulatory reporting requirements.
• Maintain the operational Microsoft and Databricks data environment.
• Improve data architecture with data management colleagues.

Your profile

Essential skills

• Senior experience in Big Data, data architecture and data solution design.
• Microsoft Azure, including Azure Data Factory, data lakes and data warehouses.
• Databricks, ETL, Microsoft Fabric and Power BI.
• Multidimensional modelling and SQL, including partitioning.
• SAP ECC, the SAP ECC table connector, SAP S/4HANA and SAP S/4HANA IS-U.
• M365 architecture.
