A public transport operator is strengthening governance and protection for data used across its operations as part of its Data strategy and response to NIS2. The senior Data Governance Specialist will define policies, classify critical data and flows, and embed data management controls with business and IT teams. The role combines data governance, cyber security and change management with tools such as Collibra, Informatica or OvalEdge.
The mission
The priority is to govern critical data and support NIS2 compliance across identification, protection, backup, restoration and access. You will work with the DPO, CISO, Enterprise Architecture, Document Management Office, Data & Analytics, and business and IT owners to map data, dependencies and flows and translate classifications into controls. This creates a consistent basis for data quality, discoverability, accessibility and documentation.
You will also support the Data roadmap by defining governance roles, responsibilities and processes in business and Data & Analytics initiatives. Day to day, you will facilitate workshops, document data assets, review access rules, and advise on master data management, data lineage and data modelling. You will support the Data Governance Officer with tool adoption, presentations, awareness and change activities.
