A major Belgian public utility is expanding its data reporting landscape across finance, customer service, HR, regulatory reporting, and sustainability disclosures. As a Senior Data Solution Designer Power BI, you will shape data architecture and deliver Power BI solutions built on Databricks, Microsoft Azure, and SAP data, from ingestion and modelling through publication and operational support.
The mission
The reporting platform combines SAP ECC and SAP S4Hana data with other enterprise and legacy sources, including SAP ISU and databases based on Software AG and WinDev. It supports internal financial reporting, customer service analysis, HR dashboards, annual CSRD and Taxonomy reporting, and submissions to a regional regulator. The technical landscape covers Big Data, ETL, Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake, Azure data warehouse capabilities, Databricks, Microsoft Fabric, and Power BI. Data quality, traceability, and controlled access must comply with GDPR, ISO27001, and NIS2 requirements.
You will translate business reporting needs into robust data solution designs and maintain a clear link between source systems, data models, and published reports. Your scope covers data consumption, data publication, forecasting, and operational support for the Power BI and Databricks environment. You will work across SAP and non-SAP data sources, selecting suitable ingestion, transformation, storage, and modelling approaches. The role combines solution design with hands-on follow-up of the production run and maintenance activities.
Your responsibilities
- Design Power BI and Microsoft Fabric solutions that turn finance, customer service, HR, sustainability, and regulatory requirements into reliable reporting products.
- Define end-to-end data architectures covering ETL, Azure Data Factory, data lakes, data warehouses, data consumption, and data publication.
- Build and optimise multidimensional models and SQL queries, including partitioning, for SAP ECC, SAP S4Hana, SAP S4Hana ISU, and other source systems.
- Deliver integrated reports, dashboards, and alerts with consistent definitions, traceable data flows, and appropriate access controls.
- Coordinate the operational run of Power BI and Databricks, resolving data or reporting issues and supporting stable service continuity.
- Apply GDPR, ISO27001, and NIS2 principles throughout solution design, implementation, documentation, and maintenance.
Your profile
Essential skills
- Senior experience in data solution design, data architecture, and enterprise reporting, with the ability to connect business requirements to implementable technical designs.
- Strong capability in Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, Databricks, and Microsoft Azure data services.
- Practical experience with Microsoft Azure Data Factory, Microsoft Azure Data Lake, and Microsoft Azure data warehouse architectures.
- Advanced SQL skills, including performance optimisation and partitioning, together with multidimensional modelling experience.
- Ability to design ETL pipelines and data flows across SAP ECC, the SAP ECC table connector, SAP S4Hana, SAP S4Hana ISU, and heterogeneous legacy sources.
- Understanding of M365 architecture and its integration with enterprise data and reporting environments.
- Experience supporting production BI platforms, including incident follow-up, maintenance, documentation, and data quality control.
- Structured communication skills and the ability to work with business stakeholders, technical teams, and data owners.
