The Data Management Office of a Belgian credit insurance group coordinates a group-wide data governance and data quality programme across operations in 15 European countries. This DCAM Certified Data Governance Consultant role supports the practical rollout of the EDM Council DCAM framework, translating business input into validated governance artefacts, templates, and communication materials. The work combines senior data governance consulting, workshop facilitation, and data literacy for business units in Brussels and across the organisation.
The mission
The organisation is establishing consistent Data Governance and Data Quality practices across multiple business domains. The programme uses the DCAM framework to define and document governance capabilities, responsibilities, controls, and evidence in a way that can be validated against agreed acceptance criteria. The work supports better ownership, transparency, and data quality across a European financial services group.
Working with the Data Quality Manager in the Data Management Office, you will guide business units through workshops, capture their input, and turn it into complete DCAM artefacts. You will also monitor progress against the implementation plan, prepare weekly and milestone reporting, and support communication and data literacy activities that help business users understand their responsibilities.
Your responsibilities
- Facilitate workshops with business units to gather, structure, and document inputs across relevant data domains.
- Produce and refine DCAM artefacts that meet the framework’s acceptance criteria and the organisation’s templates.
- Validate deliverables, maintain the supporting templates, and track implementation progress through a central status board.
- Prepare clear weekly updates and milestone reports, following up on actions and dependencies with the relevant stakeholders.
- Develop newsletters, intranet updates, quick guides, FAQs, and other data literacy materials for business users.
- Advise stakeholders on practical ways to organise, implement, and embed Data Governance and Data Quality practices.
