The organisation develops and operates core business applications that support day-to-day operational processes. This senior .NET backend developer role focuses on building RESTful API services with .NET Framework and .NET 8+, while contributing to ASP.NET MVC interfaces and the technical evolution of existing applications.

The mission

The technical landscape spans .NET Framework 4.5+, .NET Core and .NET 8+, with ASP.NET WebForms and ASP.NET MVC supporting SQL Server 2016 to SQL Server 2025, plus Oracle 19. Services are exposed through RESTful APIs and, where required, WebAPI, WCF REST, WCF and other web services, with XML and JSON exchanged according to relevant W3C standards. The delivery toolchain is Azure DevOps with GIT and TFVC, and work is organised in Agile Scrum sprints.

You will translate functional needs from analysts into maintainable solutions with the Scrum team and solution architect. Your scope covers new development, corrective and evolutionary maintenance, design patterns, unit tests, incident resolution and code reviews. You will contribute to sprint delivery and continuous improvement in a primarily French-speaking service.

Your responsibilities

  • Translate functional requirements and UML/BPMN models into technical designs aligned with recommendations from the solution architect.
  • Develop and maintain RESTful API services in .NET Framework and .NET 8+, including WebAPI, WCF REST and related web services.
  • Extend ASP.NET WebForms and ASP.NET MVC interfaces, integrating XML and JSON data according to W3C standards.
  • Implement and optimise data access with Entity Framework Core with SQL Server and Oracle 19, supporting reliable application changes.
  • Produce maintainable, performant code using SOLID principles and object-oriented practices, with unit tests and code reviews.
  • Diagnose technical incidents, deliver corrective and evolutionary maintenance, and contribute to sprint planning and continuous improvement.

Your profile

Essential skills

  • Bring senior-level experience developing backend applications with .NET, .NET Core, ASP.NET and ASP.NET MVC.
  • Build and integrate RESTful API services and work confidently with XML, JSON, WebAPI and web service technologies.
  • Manage application data access across SQL Server 2016 to SQL Server 2025 and Oracle 19.
  • Use Entity Framework Core with SQL Server and Oracle, and apply design patterns based on architectural guidance.
  • Work effectively with Visual Studio, Azure DevOps, GIT and TFVC.
  • Apply Agile and Scrum practices, including structured delivery within sprints.
  • Analyse functional requirements, communicate clearly with analysts and architects, and work autonomously on assigned development scope.
  • Write maintainable code according to SOLID principles, diagnose incidents and contribute constructively to code reviews.

Preferred skills

  • Interpret UML and BPMN models when analysing functional and technical flows.
  • Work with SOAP API integrations and legacy web service technologies.
  • Use Redgate tools for database development or release activities.

Languages

  • French, C2 proficiency, with full professional command required for collaboration in the primarily French-speaking service.
