A central financial institution is developing a new Drupal 11 ecommerce platform for the online sale of numismatic products. As Senior Front-End Drupal Developer, you will turn approved Figma designs into accessible, responsive catalogue, product, checkout, customer-account and editorial pages using Twig, modern CSS and vanilla JavaScript. The MVP is in active development and connects Drupal to an internal ERP for catalogue and order data, online payment services and Pantheon cloud hosting.
The mission
The platform uses Drupal 11 with PHP 8.3 and a two-level theme architecture: a parent design-system theme and a child theme. The site must support French, English and German content and interface translation, with templates that remain consistent across desktop and mobile views. The front end also needs to meet WCAG 2.2 expectations, support modern browser compatibility and maintain practical loading performance. This work gives the institution a maintainable public sales channel for numismatic products, connected to operational catalogue and order processes.
You will work within an existing development team under the coordination of the tech lead. Your main scope is front-end implementation from Figma through reviewed merge requests and production release. That includes reusable components, Drupal templates, CSS and JavaScript interactions, plus integration with real back-end data. You will join Agile ceremonies, contribute to code reviews and transfer component knowledge to the internal team.
Your responsibilities
- Translate approved Figma designs into pixel-accurate Drupal templates for catalogue, product, checkout, customer-account and editorial pages.
- Build and document reusable design-system components across parent and child themes, improving consistency across the ecommerce journey.
- Implement responsive, mobile-first CSS and Tailwind CSS, plus vanilla JavaScript ES6+ and Ajax interactions for carousels, galleries, forms, loading states and errors.
- Deliver semantic HTML5 and accessible keyboard and screen-reader flows aligned with WCAG 2.2 and applicable public-sector standards.
- Improve front-end performance through image optimisation, lazy loading and controlled asset loading, while maintaining browser compatibility.
- Collaborate with back-end developers to connect templates to ERP-driven catalogue and order data, participate in Agile ceremonies and code reviews, and transfer knowledge to the internal team.
Your profile
Essential skills
- Bring at least five years of front-end development experience, including at least three years of Drupal theming on Drupal 8, 9, 10 or 11.
- Apply Drupal theming with Twig, preprocess functions, libraries, render arrays and the Drupal theme system.
- Build maintainable modern CSS using architecture principles, Flexbox, Grid, responsive design, mobile-first layouts and animations.
- Write solid vanilla JavaScript ES6+ without depending on a front-end framework, including Ajax interactions.
- Integrate Figma or equivalent design files with strong pixel-level fidelity across desktop and mobile breakpoints.
- Produce semantic HTML5 and accessible interfaces using WCAG 2.2, keyboard navigation and screen-reader patterns.
- Use Git in a team workflow with merge requests, code review and rebase, and work comfortably with Composer-managed Drupal projects.
- Communicate clearly with back-end developers and designers, while working autonomously and rigorously in a security-sensitive environment.
Languages
- French: C1 or higher, as the fluent working language.
- English: B2 or higher, for technical communication.
