A major Belgian financial institution is moving technical migration projects onto centrally managed platforms for internal cloud services, file exchange and API gateway capabilities. This senior DevOps Engineer supports production deployment automation with Jenkins, Digital.ai, Terraform and Docker across middleware, database and web products.
The mission
The iOPS/DevOps function provides a common delivery approach for projects adopting the organisation's central platforms. Its technical landscape includes IBM cloud environments, Linux systems, Java applications, Docker containers, and production hardware and software. Jenkins and Digital.ai are used for deployment automation, while Terraform and Ansible support provisioning and configuration. The work helps application teams adopt shared cloud, file exchange and API gateway services across Belgium.
You will take migration requirements through deployment validation and technical support, connecting application teams with platform and operations colleagues. Your scope includes assessing production readiness, reviewing implementation choices against architecture rules and standards, and improving repeatability across build and deployment pipelines. You will contribute to Scrum-based delivery, prioritise work according to project methodology and standards, and investigate issues in cloud, Linux and container environments. The role remains close to implementation while requiring clear communication and sound technical judgement.
Your responsibilities
- Deliver deployment automation with Jenkins and Digital.ai for middleware, database and web products.
- Provision and configure cloud components with Terraform and Ansible, creating repeatable build and deployment automation.
- Improve continuous integration, continuous deployment and delivery, and continuous testing practices across migration projects.
- Support the migration of applications and technical components to central cloud, file exchange and API gateway platforms.
- Diagnose production issues across hardware, software, Java, Linux and Docker environments, restoring stable service and documenting technical support actions.
- Apply architecture rules, technical standards and Scrum practices when reviewing solutions, prioritising work and coordinating delivery.
