A major Belgian financial institution is strengthening its External Staffing function, which manages the sourcing and contracting of external professionals for business and IT teams. As an Experienced Recruiter of Externals, you will screen supplier submissions, advise managers on profile requirements, and use Microsoft Office tools to support a consistent, compliant body-shopping recruitment process.
The mission
The External Staffing department supports Belgian entities with the end-to-end hiring of external Time & Material resources. The team balances sourcing quality, delivery timing, external spend, and supplier relationships while applying procurement, risk, and compliance guidelines. The work covers requests from business stakeholders across a large financial services environment.
You will own the operational follow-up of open external staffing requests. This includes helping managers define clear function descriptions, reviewing incoming CVs in a consistent manner, documenting screening outcomes, and supporting decisions that balance candidate quality and cost. You will also manage related administration and contribute to process improvements during the initial support assignment through March 2027.
Your responsibilities
- Improve the quality and consistency of external candidate sourcing by screening CVs against agreed requirements.
- Advise business managers on function descriptions, candidate profiles, and appropriate next steps for open requests.
- Assess supplier submissions and formalise screening results to support informed quality and price decisions.
- Monitor the complete recruitment workflow, identifying delays or gaps and coordinating follow-up with managers and suppliers.
- Apply procurement, risk, and compliance guidelines throughout the external hiring process.
- Maintain accurate recruitment administration and help optimise procedures, documentation, and workflow practices.
Your profile
Essential skills
- At least 3 years of experience in external recruitment, procurement, buying, or a closely related staffing role.
- Strong knowledge of the body-shopping sourcing market, with the ability to work commercially with internal clients and suppliers.
- Fluent practical use of Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel for communication, documentation, and reporting.
- Ability to challenge internal requirements diplomatically and translate them into clear, usable profiles.
- Proactive, organised, and able to take ownership of an assigned scope while working independently.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate in a dynamic, multicultural environment.
Preferred skills
- Experience with the Nétive platform or another workflow tool used for external staffing.
- Negotiation skills and practical knowledge of procurement processes.
- Experience in an IT recruitment firm or a good understanding of the Belgian IT market.
- Experience applying risk and compliance guidelines in recruitment or supplier management.
- Exposure to AI tools used in the candidate screening domain.
