Job description

We are looking for an Expert Product Owner to guide the strategy and delivery of digital products. You will connect business needs, users and technical teams, giving development teams a clear direction and priorities in an Agile environment.

Your role

  • Develop and maintain the product vision, strategy and roadmap.
  • Translate user and stakeholder needs into requirements and user stories, and prioritise the product backlog.
  • Coach and guide one or more Scrum teams and organise sprints, reviews and retrospectives with them.
  • Monitor the quality of products and releases, including security, architecture and performance aspects.
  • Coordinate collaboration between internal and external partners.
  • Report on progress, scope and budget to management and stakeholders.

You have

  • Demonstrable experience with React for cross-platform web and mobile technology.
  • Demonstrable experience with Umbraco CMS for cross-platform web and mobile technology.
  • At least five years of demonstrable experience with Docker.
  • At least five years of demonstrable experience with OpenShift.
  • At least eight years of demonstrable experience developing and maintaining product vision and strategy.
  • At least eight years of demonstrable experience developing and maintaining product roadmaps.
  • Demonstrable experience organising penetration tests.
  • A certificate for Product Owner or Product Manager training in an Agile development methodology.
  • Dutch at C2 level.

A plus

  • A bachelor's or master's degree in computer science or marketing, or equivalent experience.
  • At least ten years of experience in digital projects.
  • Several years of experience as a Product Owner, Scrum Master or Delivery Manager.
  • Strong knowledge of Agile methodologies.
  • Strong knowledge of Scrum.
  • Strong knowledge of Kanban.
  • Experience setting up complex web applications.
  • Experience setting up application integrations.
  • Experience with APIs.
  • Experience with microservices.
  • An affinity with data platforms.
  • An affinity with reporting.
  • An affinity with security testing.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • A results-oriented approach.
  • The ability to connect business and technical teams.
  • Experience in the public sector or media.
  • Demonstrable experience within the Flemish government.
  • Demonstrable experience analysing and defining requirements with stakeholders.
  • Demonstrable experience assessing the impact of requirements.
  • Demonstrable experience coaching Scrum Masters.
  • Demonstrable experience in functional analysis.
  • Demonstrable experience prioritising a product backlog.
  • Demonstrable experience in project management, including costs, timing, planning and estimates.
