A public-sector organisation is maintaining and extending a national pension application used by citizens and organisational stakeholders. As a full-stack Java/Angular developer working across backend, frontend and delivery, you will combine Java 24+, Spring Boot and Project Reactor on the backend with Angular 22+ on the frontend, including API design, Figma-based interfaces and delivery automation.

The mission

The application supports pension-related services and must remain aligned with public-sector standards, policy expectations and the needs of citizens. Its backend combines Java 24+, Spring and Spring Boot, reactive programming with Project Reactor, SQL and transaction management, with Enterprise Java knowledge covering JBoss and Jakarta EE. On the frontend, TypeScript and Angular 22+ with signals and signal forms support reusable libraries and shared components, while the architecture includes hexagonal architecture, Domain-Driven Design, CQRS, OpenAPI and integration patterns for external systems.

Your scope covers analysis, development and maintenance across backend, frontend and delivery. You will design APIs and application boundaries, build reusable Angular libraries and shared components, translate Figma designs into working interfaces, and ensure privacy, security and WCAG accessibility. The team works with short feedback loops, frequent integration and pair programming, and you will contribute to the onboarding and development of junior colleagues.

Your responsibilities

  • Analyse and extend pension services so new functionality remains aligned with stakeholder needs and public-sector standards.
  • Design maintainable APIs and boundaries using hexagonal architecture, Domain-Driven Design, CQRS, backend-for-frontend and OpenAPI.
  • Translate Figma designs into reusable Angular libraries and shared components with signals, signal forms and accessible interaction patterns.
  • Implement privacy by design, OWASP Top 10 controls, OIDC/OAuth2 flows and WCAG-aligned accessibility.
  • Validate changes through test-driven development, unit, integration, component, end-to-end and visual regression testing with Playwright.
  • Integrate and deliver software through Git, Gradle or Maven, containers, GitLab CI/CD and trunk-based development, while pairing and coaching junior colleagues.

Your profile

Essential skills

  • Brings medior-level experience taking ownership of full-stack Java/Angular work and contributing to the onboarding of junior developers.
  • Develops Java 24+ applications with Spring/Spring Boot, Project Reactor, SQL and transaction management, with an understanding of JBoss and Jakarta EE.
  • Designs maintainable systems using hexagonal architecture, ports and adapters, Domain-Driven Design, CQRS, backend-for-frontend and anti-corruption layers.
  • Builds Angular 22+ frontends with TypeScript, signals and signal forms, including reusable libraries and shared components.
  • Translates Figma designs into accessible interfaces and can describe three concrete pain points involved in translating Figma designs into an Angular frontend.
  • Applies privacy by design, OWASP Top 10, OIDC/OAuth2, WCAG principles and accessibility testing.
  • Practises test-driven development and performs unit, integration, component, end-to-end and visual regression testing.
  • Works effectively with Agile methodology, including pair programming, and communicates clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
