A public-sector organisation is evolving its national pension application, which supports interactions between the organisation, citizens and political stakeholders. As a medior full-stack Java and Angular developer, you will combine Java 24+, Spring Boot and Project Reactor on the backend with TypeScript and Angular 22+ on the frontend, while contributing to API design, testing and delivery.
The mission
The application runs as an enterprise service using Java 24+, Spring/Spring Boot, Project Reactor, SQL and transaction management, with an Enterprise Java context that includes JBoss/Jakarta EE. Its architecture combines hexagonal architecture, Domain-Driven Design, CQRS, OpenAPI and integration patterns including anti-corruption layers and the backend-for-frontend pattern. This work supports a public-facing application whose behaviour must remain reliable, secure and understandable as requirements evolve across organisational, citizen and political stakeholders.
Your scope covers backend, frontend and delivery, connecting implementation decisions to the broader product architecture. Day-to-day work includes refining APIs, building reusable Angular libraries and shared components, and turning Figma designs into accessible interfaces. The team uses Agile methods, pair programming, short feedback loops and frequent integration, so you will discuss design choices openly and contribute to the onboarding of junior developers.
Your responsibilities
- Analyse, develop and maintain the pension application in line with stakeholder needs and departmental standards.
- Design and evolve APIs and application boundaries using hexagonal architecture, Domain-Driven Design, CQRS, OpenAPI, anti-corruption layers and the backend-for-frontend pattern.
- Translate Figma designs into accessible Angular interfaces, reusable frontend libraries and shared components using signals and signal forms.
- Build and verify full-stack changes with test-driven development, unit, integration, component, end-to-end and visual regression testing using Playwright.
- Apply privacy by design, OWASP Top 10, OIDC/OAuth2 and WCAG guidance to protect data and support accessible use.
- Deliver changes through Git, Gradle, Maven, containers, GitLab CI/CD pipelines and trunk-based development, while guiding junior team members.
