A public-sector social-security organisation is maintaining and extending applications that support statutory services for self-employed workers. The fullstack .NET developer role covers frontend and backend delivery with C#, .NET Framework, .NET Core and Blazor, alongside Azure Cloud automation through Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines.
The mission
More than 150 people work in the IT department, which is organised into ten multidisciplinary development teams. Each team has around ten members, including developers, business analysts, test analysts, an Ops Engineer, a Product Owner and a Scrum Master. Teams use Agile/Scrum delivery within a SAFe environment and maintain applications that support core administrative processes. The landscape includes C#, .NET Framework, .NET Core, Blazor, MS SQL and Azure Cloud, with service communication through gRPC Remote Procedure Calls and NServiceBus messaging, as well as WCF.
Working in this role, you will design, develop and maintain .NET applications across frontend and backend layers. You will translate functional analyses into technical designs, support business analysts in validating specifications, and ensure that new functionality meets expected quality and performance levels. Delivery takes place iteratively with developers, testers, business analysts, the Product Owner, Scrum Master and Ops Engineer. You will also resolve second-level technical issues, contribute to documentation and share implementation knowledge with junior developers.
Your responsibilities
- Design and deliver frontend and backend functionality with C#, .NET Framework, .NET Core and Blazor, keeping implementations aligned with validated technical specifications.
- Build Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines for .NET applications and maintain unit tests that keep development, test and production environments stable.
- Integrate application components through gRPC Remote Procedure Calls, WCF, NServiceBus or another suitable messaging pattern.
- Diagnose and resolve second-level bugs, providing technical support to colleagues and reducing recurring issues.
- Improve development processes, software quality and application performance by evaluating relevant technologies and methods.
- Produce and review technical documentation, and share knowledge across the multidisciplinary team.
Your profile
Essential skills
- Bring at least five years of professional experience as a .NET developer, with responsibility for both frontend and backend development.
- Develop and maintain applications in C#, .NET Framework, .NET Core and Blazor.
- Configure and operate Azure Cloud services and Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines, including automated build, test and deployment steps.
- Work confidently with MS SQL and service communication using gRPC, WCF and NServiceBus or another messaging pattern.
- Apply at least three years of Agile/Scrum experience and contribute effectively in a SAFe delivery model.
- Analyse technical problems, make autonomous decisions and explain technical concepts clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Collaborate with developers, testers, business analysts and product roles while adapting priorities and taking ownership of quality and delivery.
Languages
- French or Dutch: C2, or equivalent native proficiency in one of the two languages.
- The second national language: A2, for comprehension and basic written and spoken communication.
- English: A2, for comprehension of technical and project documentation.
Education
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, or equivalent professional experience.
