A Belgian public-sector social security organisation is expanding its IT department, which includes more than 150 people across ten multidisciplinary development teams. This fullstack .NET developer role covers frontend and backend delivery with C#, .NET Framework, Blazor, Azure Cloud and Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines, supporting applications in a bilingual environment serving French-speaking and Dutch-speaking stakeholders.
The mission
More than 150 IT colleagues work across ten multidisciplinary teams of approximately ten people, with developers, business analysts, testers, an Ops Engineer, Scrum Master and Product Owner represented in each team. The teams deliver and maintain .NET applications in an Agile/Scrum and SAFe setting, using Azure Cloud, Azure DevOps and automated delivery practices. The wider technical landscape includes gRPC, Windows Communication Foundation (WCF), messaging patterns such as NServiceBus and Microsoft SQL Server (MS SQL).
Working as part of one of these teams, you will own frontend and backend changes from technical design through development, testing and maintenance. You will convert functional analyses into technical specifications and support the Business Analyst in validating them. Your work will be delivered iteratively with the team and will contribute to application quality, performance and operational stability.
Your responsibilities
- Design and deliver fullstack .NET features across frontend and backend components using C#, .NET Framework, .NET Core and Blazor.
- Translate functional analyses into technical designs and validate specifications with the Business Analyst before implementation.
- Build and maintain Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines and unit tests to support reliable development, testing and production environments.
- Integrate application components using gRPC, WCF, NServiceBus or equivalent messaging patterns, and Microsoft SQL Server.
- Diagnose and resolve second-line technical issues, bugs and performance problems while providing technical support to colleagues.
- Improve and document development practices, software quality and technical documentation, including reviews of documentation prepared by junior developers.
Your profile
Essential skills
- At least 5 years of professional experience as a .NET developer, with hands-on responsibility across frontend and backend development.
- Practical capability with .NET Framework, .NET Core, C#, Blazor, Azure Cloud and Azure DevOps.
- Experience creating and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and unit tests in Azure DevOps.
- Ability to work with gRPC, WCF, MS SQL and NServiceBus or another messaging pattern.
- At least 3 years of experience working in Agile Scrum teams, with the ability to deliver incrementally with developers, testers, analysts and product stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- A collaborative, proactive and autonomous working style, combined with adaptability and a strong sense of responsibility.
Preferred skills
- Experience with Oracle PL/SQL.
Languages
- French or Dutch: C1 or higher as the primary working language.
- The second national language: A2, sufficient for comprehension and basic written and spoken communication.
- English: B1, sufficient for understanding technical and professional documentation.
Education
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, or equivalent professional experience.
