A public transport organisation in Flanders is modernising its ticketing systems as it moves from traditional products to Account-Based Ticketing (ABT). This ICT architect role in Flemish public transport covers SAP FICA BRIM and SAP S/4HANA architecture, including SAP integrations, data migration and stakeholder management across the programme.
The mission
The programme is replacing a traditional ticketing model with account-based services in which customer and travel entitlements are managed through accounts. SAP FICA BRIM and SAP S/4HANA are central to the financial and enterprise architecture, with integrations to surrounding applications and data migration from existing systems. The architecture will give the organisation a coherent target state for business processes, applications, data and technology.
As a senior SAP FICA BRIM architect, you will connect the specialist SAP design to the wider architecture and delivery plan. You will translate business and project requirements into architecture decisions, models and integration principles, then coordinate their interpretation with business and technical stakeholders. Your work will support planning, estimates, dependencies and implementation decisions throughout the transition in the Flemish Region.
Your responsibilities
- Define the target SAP FICA BRIM and SAP S/4HANA architecture for Account-Based Ticketing, aligning financial processing with the wider ticketing landscape.
- Design the SAP S/4HANA integration architecture for reliable connections between SAP and surrounding applications.
- Plan data migration for Account-Based Ticketing, covering source analysis, mapping, dependencies and validation requirements.
- Produce architecture models, principles and decision records using ArchiMate, TOGAF, UML and Sparx EA.
- Align business, project and technical stakeholders around scope, trade-offs and implementation consequences.
- Contribute to project estimates, timing, planning and coordination so architecture decisions can be delivered within the programme.
Your profile
Essential skills
- Bring at least 8 years of experience as a specialist architect in one defined domain, or as a certified Enterprise Architect, with demonstrable depth in at least one architecture discipline.
- Bring at least 5 years of experience as an SAP FICA BRIM architect and at least 5 years working with SAP S/4HANA.
- Apply data migration methods in project environments, from understanding source data through to defining migration requirements and controls.
- Design integrations from SAP to other applications and assess their impact on the target architecture.
- Use ArchiMate, TOGAF, UML and Sparx EA to communicate architecture clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Manage stakeholders across business and IT, and explain architecture choices in a way that supports decisions.
Preferred skills
- Understand business processes beyond the SAP finance domain and connect them to architecture decisions.
- Understand project management facets including cost, timing, coordination, planning and estimates.
- Have knowledge of all architecture domains, with specialist expertise in at least one of infrastructure, application, security, data or process architecture.
