A banking institution operating in Belgium is strengthening its IT Continuity Strategy and IT Continuity & Resilience Officer function to keep critical applications and data-centre services recoverable after severe incidents. As a senior IT Continuity Process & Reporting Officer, you will assess regulatory compliance, validate IT Disaster Recovery deliverables, and convert continuity data into dashboards for governance bodies and regulators across the Belgian banking sector.
The mission
The team maintains the processes and controls that allow the organisation to react to a critical failure of an application or data centre. Its work connects IT infrastructure, application development, business continuity expectations, and regulatory requirements from the European Central Bank, the National Bank of Belgium, and group policies. The role also contributes evidence and follow-up for audits and control plans, so remediation is documented and closed on time.
Your day-to-day scope covers reviewing regulatory and group changes, updating the IT continuity process, and working with stakeholders to close gaps. You will review IT Disaster Recovery reports and validate changes to application continuity levels against business impact analyses. You will also design and maintain dashboard reporting for boards and regulators, using clear data, traceable evidence, and consistent definitions. The position suits someone who can connect operational technology details with governance and risk decisions.
Your responsibilities
- Maintain alignment between the IT continuity process, regulatory requirements, and internal group standards.
- Translate regulatory and policy changes into updated controls, procedures, and stakeholder actions.
- Support audit and control plans by preparing complete evidence and following remediation actions through to closure.
- Prioritise and track risk mitigation plans, ensuring corrective actions are documented, validated, and delivered within agreed deadlines.
- Validate IT Disaster Recovery deliverables and approve changes to application continuity levels in line with business impact analyses.
- Build and improve dashboards and reports that give boards, management, and regulators clear visibility of continuity risks and progress.
Your profile
Essential skills
- Bring at least 3 years of relevant experience in IT continuity, operational security, IT risk, compliance, or a related discipline.
- Assess regulatory compliance requirements and explain their impact on IT processes, controls, and risk mitigation plans.
- Design and maintain continuity dashboards and reports for management, governance forums, audits, and regulators.
- Apply working knowledge of IT infrastructure and application development to review recovery documentation and continuity decisions.
- Use MS Office and ServiceNow to structure information, maintain evidence, and support reporting workflows.
- Work effectively with agile methodology and multidisciplinary stakeholders.
- Analyse complex information, question assumptions, identify emerging risks, and make informed decisions under pressure.
- Share knowledge, take ownership of deliverables, and maintain a continuous learning approach.
Preferred skills
- Practical experience with IT Continuity processes and governance.
- Experience validating or implementing IT Disaster Recovery plans and deliverables.
