An organisation is coordinating multiple staff and IT equipment relocations across a campus, including infrastructure readiness, vendor delivery and controlled cutovers. This medior IT Project Manager role for campus relocations combines IT project management and Microsoft Project planning with the stakeholder communication expected of a communication specialist across IT, facilities, business departments and external suppliers.

The mission

Several moves need to be sequenced so staff can transfer while networks, servers, storage, endpoints and related services are available when each area is ready. The delivery window is two months and the work involves internal IT, facilities, business stakeholders and external vendors. The project matters because incomplete preparation can interrupt operations, delay access to new workspaces or expose equipment and data to avoidable risk.

Day to day, you will own the integrated project plan and connect each relocation to the required technical, logistical and organisational activities. You will track milestones, dependencies, resources, risks and readiness, while keeping stakeholders informed of progress and decisions. Your work will link the wider relocation programme with the practical delivery of each move, from preparation and equipment setup through handover.

Your responsibilities

  • Manage staff and IT equipment relocations from preparation through handover, keeping operational disruption to a minimum.
  • Build and maintain Microsoft Project plans for IT moves, including milestones, dependencies, resources, timelines and risks.
  • Align IT, facilities, business departments and external vendors so deliveries, installations and access requirements are completed on time.
  • Track technical and logistical readiness, resolving issues related to networks, servers, storage, workstations and other IT equipment.
  • Protect compliance with internal policies, data security requirements, health and safety standards and agreed relocation procedures.
  • Report project status, risks, decisions and required actions through clear documentation and regular stakeholder updates.

Your profile

Essential skills

  • Bring medior-level IT project experience in infrastructure relocations or comparable workplace or infrastructure projects.
  • Build Microsoft Project plans for IT moves and use them to manage scope, dependencies, resources and delivery dates.
  • Understand IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, storage systems, endpoints and the operational impact of equipment changes.
  • Apply technical troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve issues affecting equipment, systems or relocation activities.
  • Demonstrate vendor management capability when coordinating IT suppliers, service providers, deliveries and setup activities.
  • Communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders, providing concise updates and handling concerns constructively.
  • Lead through collaboration, open communication and practical conflict resolution when priorities or responsibilities overlap.
  • Produce detailed project plans, status reports, risk records, handover information and technical documentation while adapting to changing priorities.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business Administration or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
