A public-sector facilities organisation in Belgium is strengthening how it manages furniture across office projects and relocation programmes in Brussels and the Flemish Region. As Furniture Management Manager, you will analyse and improve the BOS furniture inventory system, organise stock and warehouse processes, and translate findings into practical rules for reuse and circular management. The role combines AutoCAD where relevant for office layouts with Excel-based inventory analysis and process improvement.

The mission

You will join the staff function of a construction projects department with around 90 employees across four teams. The department supports office construction, optimisation and relocation projects, where furniture may be reassigned to another site, refurbished, stored for later use or removed through circular channels. Reliable inventory data and clear stock rules are important to reduce unnecessary purchasing, transport and disposal while making existing furniture easier to reuse.

Your work will cover the full furniture management process, from documenting the current situation to proposing a future operating model. You will work with furniture specialists, product managers, team managers and relocation coordinators to improve the BOS system, clarify responsibilities and establish practical agreements. The assignment requires independent information gathering, structured analysis and recommendations that can be applied both in offices and in warehouses. Your findings will support a short- and medium-term roadmap for furniture tracking, stock management and sustainable reuse.

Your responsibilities

  • Map current furniture, stock and warehouse processes, including roles, responsibilities, information flows and operational bottlenecks.
  • Improve the BOS furniture inventory system by identifying data quality issues, simplifying working methods and defining rules for registration and reporting.
  • Establish a reliable overview of available, allocated, usable, repairable and obsolete furniture across office locations and storage facilities.
  • Organise the assessment and reorganisation of warehouse stock, including practical agreements for intake, storage, dispatch, reuse and removal.
  • Design a future stock and furniture management model, comparing internal management, outsourcing, external partnerships and central coordination of furniture flows.
  • Deliver a practical roadmap with process descriptions, improvement actions and recommendations for the organisation’s future role as a shared furniture management platform.

Your profile

Essential skills

  • Demonstrates experience with relocation projects, logistics or the structured coordination of furniture and other physical assets.
  • Can inventory furniture and manage stock data, distinguishing between items ready for use, repair, storage, refurbishment or removal.
  • Works confidently with Excel for data analysis, reporting and structured overviews.
  • Can use AutoCAD to understand or review office layouts and furniture placement where required.
  • Brings practical experience in process analysis and can translate findings into clear procedures and working agreements.
  • Works independently and systematically while involving internal stakeholders and communicating recommendations clearly.
  • Takes a pragmatic approach to improving efficiency, usability, sustainability, reuse and circular management.
