A monetary authority based in Luxembourg City, in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, is organising internal awareness sessions on operational risk for employees without a specialist risk background. The senior operational risk consultant will design and deliver an interactive operational risk training programme using workshop animation, a generic scenario and a gamified exercise to make the subject practical and memorable.

The mission

Operational risk management is relevant across monetary policy, financial stability, supervision, statistics, payment systems and other activities carried out by a central banking institution. The programme will introduce participants to the nature of operational risk, the relationship between impact and probability, and the value of proportionate safeguards. It will also show how incident reporting helps identify emerging risks and how risk understanding supports better preparation and response.

The assignment covers 3 to 4 in-person sessions delivered between 28 September and 2 October 2026. Each session will last 60 to 75 minutes and include up to 25 participants. You will create a high-level session concept, define the learning outcomes and activities, identify any equipment required, and deliver the training in English. Your work will connect practical risk assessment methods with everyday decisions made by a varied, non-specialised audience.

Your responsibilities

  • Design an interactive operational risk workshop based on a simple, organisation-independent scenario.
  • Facilitate a gamified simulation, role play or comparable activity that keeps participants actively involved.
  • Explain risk assessment using practical examples of impact, probability and proportionate controls.
  • Demonstrate how incident reporting can reveal new operational risks and improve organisational learning.
  • Deliver 3 to 4 structured sessions in English and adapt your facilitation to participants with different levels of prior knowledge.
  • Prepare the session outline, learning outcomes, activity instructions and equipment requirements for approval before delivery.

Your profile

Essential skills

  • Bring senior-level experience in operational risk, operational risk management or a closely related governance and control discipline.
  • Design and deliver operational risk training for non-specialists, with a clear focus on practical understanding rather than technical terminology.
  • Demonstrate strong workshop animation and training facilitation skills, including the ability to manage interaction with groups of up to 25 people.
  • Use gamification, role play, simulation or other participative methods to turn abstract risk concepts into memorable learning experiences.
  • Explain risk assessment, safeguards, incident reporting and response planning in clear language suitable for a varied audience.
  • Confirm availability for delivery between 28 September and 2 October 2026 and provide examples of comparable assignments.

Languages

  • English, at least C1 level, with the ability to design and deliver professional training sessions.

SEO keywords are provided separately in the structured output.
