A major Belgian financial services organisation is extending its digital Employee Benefits offering across customer, distribution partner and employee journeys. As Product Owner Employee Benefits, you will represent the business for defined products and processes, turning business insight, analytics and customer feedback into a prioritised roadmap, digital solutions and process improvements in close partnership with IT.
The mission
The Employee Benefits domain combines insurance-related services, partner distribution and digital interactions with employers, employees and customers. The role supports the organisation's digital transformation agenda by improving products and processes, while ensuring that solutions reflect business priorities, customer expectations and relevant regulatory requirements. The work is connected to Belgium's Employee Benefits market and is delivered through collaboration between business, IT and Agile delivery teams.
You will own the product direction for one or more Employee Benefits products or processes. Your scope covers customer journey redesign, backlog management, stakeholder alignment and validation of delivered solutions, from identifying an opportunity through to implementation and continuous improvement. You will work with product developers, architects, Domain Leads, operations, customer service, distribution partners and portfolio managers.
Your responsibilities
- Define and communicate the product vision, roadmap and priorities for assigned Employee Benefits products and processes.
- Translate customer feedback, business needs, strategic objectives and regulatory requirements into features, epics and user stories.
- Prioritise the product backlog according to business value, customer impact and delivery dependencies.
- Drive customer journey redesign and digital transformation initiatives that improve interactions for customers, partners and employees.
- Coordinate dependencies across teams and facilitate decisions between business stakeholders, Agile teams and technical specialists.
- Validate delivered solutions against business requirements and expected customer outcomes, while supporting PI Planning, Sprint Planning, Reviews and Retrospectives.
Your profile
Essential skills
- Bring at least 5 years of relevant experience in product ownership, digital transformation, customer journey redesign, project management or business transformation.
- Apply product ownership practices to define roadmaps, write clear user stories and manage product backlog prioritisation.
- Understand the Employee Benefits domain and show a strong affinity with financial services, preferably including insurance.
- Work effectively in Agile and Scrum environments, with the ability to operate in a SAFe Agile delivery model.
- Use analytics, customer insight and business information to identify improvement opportunities and support prioritisation.
- Communicate clearly with business and IT stakeholders, manage expectations transparently and facilitate alignment across teams.
- Combine structured project management with sound stakeholder management and the ability to connect strategic goals with practical delivery.
Education
- Hold a bachelor's degree or demonstrate equivalent professional experience.
