A major Belgian banking group is developing the professional credit experience used by business clients in Belgium, bringing customer and stakeholder needs into a coherent Agile product. As a Senior Product Owner, you will own the product vision, roadmap and Product Backlog within a cross-functional Scrum team, applying Agile methodologies, budget management and project management to guide delivery.
The mission
The product supports professional credit journeys for business clients and connects business priorities with the teams delivering the service. The Product Owner works with stakeholders, customers, the Scrum Master, analysts, developers and testers to maintain a clear product direction and ensure each Sprint produces a consistent increment. This role matters because prioritised functional decisions determine how the organisation evolves a core business service.
You will define the product's big picture, roadmap and functional specifications, then communicate them clearly to the Development Team. You will maintain the Product Backlog, plan iterations and continuously rank business needs according to value, budget and delivery constraints. You will also arbitrate on delivered functionalities, monitor Sprint Backlog adjustments and use demos, retrospectives and test labs to improve quality. Collaboration is primarily with Belgian stakeholders, and travel requirements are limited.
Your responsibilities
- Shape the product vision and roadmap into priorities that give the Development Team a clear direction for each delivery cycle.
- Translate customer and stakeholder expectations into concise functional specifications and acceptance criteria that support consistent product decisions.
- Govern the Product Backlog, continuously reprioritising business needs according to value, budget and project constraints.
- Align stakeholders around scope, quality and timing, and arbitrate when delivered functionalities require a product decision.
- Manage budget and project follow-up, identifying adjustments early and keeping delivery connected to the roadmap.
- Participate actively in Scrum ceremonies, including demos, retrospectives and test labs, turning feedback into improvements for the next Sprint.
