This senior Program Manager role sits within an organisation coordinating a portfolio of interdependent IT initiatives. You will provide programme-level governance for work involving data migration, data mesh, and reporting tools rationalization, ensuring that individual projects contribute to agreed business outcomes.
The mission
The programme brings together several complex IT projects with shared dependencies, risks, stakeholders, and budgets. Its purpose is to give management a consolidated view of progress and to support decisions that cannot be made effectively at project level. The work requires a strong understanding of IT systems, project management methodologies and tools, and the organisational context in which the projects operate.
You will agree programme objectives with management and stakeholders, monitor delivery across the project portfolio, and maintain the overall view of scope, timing, cost, and outcomes. Project managers will rely on you for escalation, cross-project coordination, decision support, and guidance when project-level issues have wider programme implications.
Your responsibilities
- Set programme objectives and governance arrangements with management, sponsors, and key stakeholders.
- Coordinate dependencies across projects covering data migration, data mesh, reporting tools rationalization, and related IT systems.
- Control programme risks, issues, costs, forecasts, and delivery status to keep decisions transparent and timely.
- Support project managers by providing strategic direction, acting as an escalation path, and helping resolve issues with programme-level impact.
- Report consolidated progress, budget information, risks, and decisions to line management, steering committees, and stakeholders.
- Represent the interests of the organisation and stakeholders while ensuring compliance with applicable policies, permanent control, and operational risk requirements.
Your profile
Essential skills
- Bring at least 10 years of relevant experience as a Program Manager, managing complex projects or a programme made up of multiple related projects.
- Apply project management methodologies and tools to plan, govern, monitor, and report on interdependent delivery streams.
- Understand how IT systems, data migration, data mesh, and reporting tools rationalization affect programme scope, dependencies, and business outcomes.
- Maintain a structured, goal-oriented approach while keeping a clear helicopter view of the overall programme.
- Make well-founded decisions, manage escalations, and balance the interests of management, project teams, and other stakeholders.
- Communicate clearly and diplomatically, with a customer-oriented approach and the ability to motivate people across different projects.
- Communicate professionally in Dutch, French, and English.
