An IT-transversal function is coordinating a portfolio of related projects that support organisational objectives across data and reporting. The senior program manager for IT initiatives will provide program management for data migration and data mesh initiatives, alongside reporting tools rationalization, aligning project managers, stakeholders, and decision-makers around a common delivery plan. The role combines strategic oversight with practical governance of complex IT projects.
The mission
The program brings together interdependent projects rather than a single delivery stream. Its technical landscape includes multiple IT systems, data migration and data mesh initiatives, and a review of reporting tools, with the program view needed to manage dependencies, risks, budget, and timing across them. This coordination gives management one consolidated view of progress, decisions, and impacts. The assignment is planned as a structured program through June 2027.
At day-to-day level, the program manager aligns objectives with management and stakeholders, follows project progress, and makes cross-project impacts visible to project managers. They act as a sounding board for delivery decisions, sponsor the projects in the program, and provide an escalation path when issues cannot be resolved at project level. They maintain program cost estimates and forecasts, prepare reporting for line management and stakeholders, and participate in steering committees. The role connects operational project delivery with business objectives, compliance, permanent control, and operational risk.
Your responsibilities
- Establish shared program objectives with management and stakeholders, creating a clear basis for project decisions and delivery priorities.
- Integrate project plans, timelines, and cross-project dependencies so related teams can coordinate their work and maintain overall progress.
- Govern program risks, issues, and escalations, resolving cross-project impacts or directing them to the appropriate decision forum.
- Oversee program budgets, cost estimates, and forecasts to keep financial implications visible across the projects.
- Produce concise status reporting for line management, stakeholders, and steering committees, covering progress, decisions, risks, and next actions.
- Sponsor the projects in the program and support project managers with strategic context, structured decision-making, and alignment with compliance, permanent control, and operational risk.
Your profile
Essential skills
- Bring at least 10 years of relevant experience as a program manager, including management of complex projects or a program of projects.
- Apply project management methodologies and tools to plan, govern, and report on interdependent IT delivery.
- Understand how to coordinate work across IT systems and translate project-level information into an overall program view.
- Demonstrate experience with data migration and data mesh initiatives, as well as reporting tools rationalization across IT systems.
- Use strategic thinking and a helicopter view to identify dependencies, assess consequences, and make timely decisions.
- Communicate clearly and diplomatically with management, project managers, and stakeholders, while remaining customer-oriented.
- Motivate people, manage competing interests, and work proactively through a structured, goal-oriented approach.
- Work with awareness of compliance, permanent control, and operational risk requirements.
