This Senior Project Manager role supports a public-sector organisation delivering cross-functional business and technology initiatives. The position covers project and program governance from initiation through closure, with direct responsibility for change management, release management, financial reporting, and coordination of internal and external resources.
The mission
The role sits within an organisation-wide delivery landscape where projects need to stay aligned with business priorities, agreed budgets, quality standards, and expected benefits. Project and program governance provides sponsors and management with consistent visibility of scope, schedule, cost, risks, dependencies, and delivery outcomes. The work includes applying the organisation's established project management methods while improving them through structured lessons learned and continuous improvement.
As a senior Project Manager, you will take ownership of the delivery lifecycle, from defining the scope and objectives to closing the project and documenting decisions. Your day-to-day scope includes translating user and business needs, coordinating business and technical stakeholders, planning resources, and managing suppliers and consultants. You will assess change requests and their impact on cost, timing, and scope, then coordinate the required decisions and release management activities. Your reporting will connect operational delivery with steering committees, sponsors, and management so that issues are visible and actions are followed through.
