An energy-sector organisation supports projects and Agile development teams across complex application and integration landscapes. As a senior QA and test automation engineer, you will shape the testing approach, coordinate quality activities and build automation frameworks, combining hands-on testing with coaching and stakeholder coordination.
The mission
A multidisciplinary test team works across project delivery and Agile teams, bringing together test coordination, functional and technical testing, quality management, Quality Engineering and automation. You will prepare and coordinate testing from requirements through release validation, using formal methods and a pragmatic, risk-based approach suited to interconnected enterprise applications.
Your scope includes integration, regression, end-to-end and API testing, as well as improving test processes, test levels, governance and automation. You will work closely with business, IT, suppliers and testing colleagues, and help teams involve testing earlier in development.
Your responsibilities
- Define test strategies, plans and approaches for complex application landscapes.
- Analyse business requirements and turn them into test scenarios and test cases.
- Coordinate integration, regression and end-to-end testing across test levels.
- Design and maintain programmable automation frameworks using TypeScript, WebdriverIO, Node.js, Cucumber or equivalents.
- Coach testers and align business, development and testing stakeholders.
- Promote shift-left practices and strengthen quality controls across delivery teams.
Your profile
Essential skills
- Eight years of experience as a test specialist.
- Ten years of software testing in complex enterprise environments.
- Experience testing in Agile/Scrum projects and applying formal test methods and techniques.
- Experience analysing business requirements and translating them into test scenarios and test cases.
- Experience defining test strategies, plans and approaches for complex application landscapes.
- Five years of experience with integration, regression and end-to-end testing.
- Experience with programmable test automation using TypeScript, WebdriverIO, Node.js, Cucumber or equivalent tools.
- Experience designing or maintaining a test automation framework, coaching testers and coordinating across business, development and testing.
- Clear communication skills and a hands-on approach.
Preferred skills
- Experience writing test scenarios and integrating test automation with CI/CD.
- Experience in functional and technical testing, quality management and Quality Engineering.
- Knowledge of shift-left testing, API testing, Tricentis Tosca and enterprise test automation.
Languages
- Dutch: C2.
Working context
- Work spans projects and Agile development teams in a multidisciplinary test setup.
- Collaborate with business, IT, suppliers and the wider testing organisation.
- Regular weekly travel between sites is required. Remote work is possible, with its frequency agreed with the team lead.
