A Belgian energy and utilities organisation is strengthening quality practices across project delivery and Agile development. As a senior Test Manager, you will assess current testing, shape pragmatic quality governance and guide teams towards Quality Engineering and shift-left testing.
The mission
The role sits within a multidisciplinary testing team supporting projects and Agile development teams. You will assess existing quality practices through capability, maturity or quality assessments and stakeholder workshops, identify improvement opportunities, and turn findings into practical recommendations and a feasible improvement roadmap. Your scope includes test levels, quality processes, governance, functional and technical test strategies, and test automation.
The broader team covers functional, integration, end-to-end, regression, release validation, API and CI/CD testing, alongside Tricentis Tosca architecture and enterprise test automation practices. You will coach teams and work with business, IT, suppliers and the existing testing organisation to improve the quality and reliability of software deliveries.
Your responsibilities
- Coordinate quality activities across projects and Agile development teams.
- Assess current quality practices and identify improvements through stakeholder workshops.
- Define functional and technical test strategies, test levels and governance.
- Recommend practical changes to test processes and automation.
- Build a feasible roadmap for quality assurance and shift-left testing.
- Coach QA, test and engineering teams through quality transformations.
- Guide teams towards Quality Engineering within Agile and DevOps contexts.
Your profile
Essential skills
- At least eight years in Software Quality Assurance, Test Management or Quality Engineering.
- Eight years of experience defining functional and technical test strategies.
- Experience coordinating quality in projects and developing test strategies.
- Experience guiding organisations through quality or test transformations.
- Experience coaching QA, test or engineering teams.
- Experience conducting capability, maturity or quality assessments.
- Clear communication and a hands-on approach.
Preferred skills
- Experience in energy or utilities.
- Experience with AI-assisted analysis, coding and strategy.
- Experience with Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery and DevSecOps.
- Familiarity with quality management tools such as Quality Center.
Languages
- Dutch: C2.
Working context
- Work spans projects and Agile development teams, in an Agile and DevOps context.
- The multidisciplinary team works with business, IT, suppliers and the existing testing organisation.
- Regular weekly travel between sites is required.
