A public transport organisation serving the Flemish region is modernising its ticketing systems through Account-Based Ticketing (ABT), moving from traditional ticketing models to account-based processes. This senior SAP BRIM ABAP developer role centres on SAP BRIM ABAP development in SAP S/4HANA, translating programme requirements into maintainable solutions for Flemish public transport ticketing.
The mission
The programme is changing how ticketing and customer-account processes are supported across the organisation's SAP landscape. SAP S/4HANA, SAP BRIM and ABAP form the main technical context for the work, and new developments must fit both existing processes and the future Account-Based Ticketing model. This work provides the technical foundation for moving the organisation's ticketing services toward account-based operations.
You will take responsibility for assigned SAP BRIM ABAP development from requirement analysis through technical design, implementation, testing and documentation. Working with functional stakeholders and other SAP specialists, you will ensure that your deliverables align with the wider SAP implementation projects. The role requires senior-level autonomy, clear communication and sound judgement when applying SAP BRIM ABAP or a comparable technology to new requirements. Your work will connect individual developments to the broader ticketing modernisation and ABT rollout.
Your responsibilities
- Design and implement ABAP developments in SAP S/4HANA that support account-based ticketing processes.
- Deliver SAP BRIM ABAP solutions that fit functional requirements and the existing SAP landscape.
- Analyse requirements and translate them into technical designs, maintainable code and clear documentation.
- Validate developments through structured testing, resolve defects and prepare changes for implementation.
- Coordinate with functional stakeholders and SAP colleagues to manage dependencies and keep deliverables aligned with the programme.
Your profile
Essential skills
- Demonstrate at least five years of experience with SAP BRIM ABAP development or a closely related technology, at senior level.
- Bring at least three years of experience working on SAP BRIM projects.
- Show hands-on SAP development experience in SAP S/4HANA using ABAP.
- Analyse complex requirements independently and communicate technical decisions clearly to functional and technical stakeholders.
Preferred skills
- Bring experience from SAP implementation projects, ideally in a transformation involving ticketing, billing or customer-account processes.
- Hold a relevant SAP certification and be able to provide the certificate as evidence.
Languages
- Work professionally in Dutch or English at CEFR level C2.
Education
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in a technical or engineering field is preferred. Equivalent professional experience with the relevant ICT technology is also accepted.
