A banking institution is aligning the applications, data flows and interfaces in its anti-money laundering (AML) domain with its enterprise architecture strategy. As a Senior Banking Domain Architect, you will connect business needs to functional architecture, technical architecture and application architecture, while using data modelling and API design to support coherent solutions across the domain.
The mission
The AML scope covers internally developed applications and package solutions, along with the services, APIs, events and shared data that connect them. Architecture decisions must reflect enterprise strategy, domain blueprints, technology evolution and architectural urbanization rules, while taking risk, cost and delivery constraints into account. Your work will define reference architecture, standard patterns, system maps and application diagrams that support sustainable change. Enterprise data modelling and cloud capabilities will inform reusable APIs, events and data products for digital transformation initiatives.
You will work with business stakeholders, IT delivery teams and architecture governance to capture needs and document functional solutions. You will analyse and define application architectures across the AML domain, validate design choices, and follow architectural decisions through implementation and production. The role includes maintaining current and target architecture, contributing to architectural committees, and communicating principles, rules and best practices. In Agile teams, you will share knowledge, use feedback to refine decisions and contribute outside your primary discipline when that helps the sprint goal.
Your responsibilities
- Define and maintain the AML domain architecture, reference architectures, blueprints and standard patterns.
- Translate business requirements into functional, technical, application and data architecture decisions.
- Design data models, APIs, events and reusable data products that support integration and digital transformation.
- Evaluate internal developments and package solutions against enterprise strategy, architectural urbanization rules and technology standards.
- Review implementation of architectural decisions before and after production, identifying risks, deviations and required corrective actions.
- Facilitate discussions with business and IT stakeholders, contribute to architectural committees, and communicate target architecture and best practices.
