A major financial institution in Belgium is evolving the systems that manage customer and counterparty information across its Party domain, including the customer referential, party life-cycle management, consent and preferences, and anti-money laundering (AML) capabilities. Based in the Brussels-Capital Region, the Customers Tribe is adding a senior banking domain architect to define functional, application, data and technical architectures, with particular emphasis on data modelling and API design, alongside architectural urbanization rules.
The mission
The Customers Tribe works on a shared domain used by multiple banking products and processes. Its architecture must support internal development and package solutions while remaining aligned with enterprise strategy, domain blueprints and group standards. The work covers simplification, reuse and the management of risk, cost and delivery constraints across the Party domain and AML initiatives.
As an enterprise architect, you will translate business needs into functional solutions and define the application, data and technical structures needed to implement them. You will work with business stakeholders, delivery teams and architectural committees to validate decisions, guide implementation before and after production, and maintain the reference architecture. Your designs will include reusable APIs, events and data products, with Cloud capabilities considered where they support the target architecture.
Your responsibilities
- Shape feature, asset and reference architectures that keep Party domain solutions coherent, sustainable and simpler.
- Analyse business needs and define application architectures, system maps, application diagrams and service interfaces.
- Design reusable APIs, events and data products through sound data modelling and enterprise patterns.
- Establish architectural rules, standard patterns, blueprints and urbanization decisions aligned with enterprise strategy.
- Govern implementation of approved architecture, checking adherence before and after production deployment.
- Communicate current and target architectures, explain trade-offs, and contribute to cross-functional Agile and architectural committees.
Your profile
Essential skills
- Bring at least 4 years of relevant experience in a senior architecture role, ideally in a regulated or banking context.
- Apply functional architecture, technical architecture, application architecture and data architecture in an integrated design.
- Analyse and define application architectures, including system boundaries, interfaces and dependencies.
- Use data modelling and API design to produce reusable, governed solutions.
- Apply architectural urbanization rules and document reference architectures, blueprints and decisions.
- Work practically with Agile and Scrum, and understand project management within cross-functional delivery teams.
- Collaborate as a communicative, analytical and accurate team player who can negotiate with stakeholders and remain risk aware.
Preferred skills
- Use Enterprise Data Modelling to create shared and reusable information structures.
- Apply Cloud capabilities when they support the target architecture and enterprise standards.
- Model enterprise landscapes with an enterprise modelling language such as ArchiMate.
- Bring experience with the Party Domain and AML processes or data.
