Job description

We are looking for a Senior BI Data Engineer to develop and modernise a data platform supporting reporting, analysis and data-driven decisions. You will combine hands-on development across on-premises and cloud environments with technical support for ETL and BI developers. This is an expert role without people management or coordination responsibilities.

Your role

  • Design, develop and maintain ETL and ELT processes that integrate data from multiple sources.
  • Develop and optimise data warehouses and data marts, including dimensional models using Kimball.
  • Implement data solutions and help modernise the BI platform while monitoring performance, stability and scalability.
  • Maintain technical documentation and contribute to development standards and best practices.
  • Support developers with complex analyses, implementations, performance issues and incidents, and act as a technical reference for data-related questions.

You have

  • At least five years of experience in data warehousing.
  • At least five years of experience in data engineering.
  • At least five years of experience with data lake solutions.
  • At least five years of experience in data integration.
  • At least five years of experience in data quality.
  • At least five years of experience in dimensional modelling with Kimball.
  • At least five years of experience with ETL processes.
  • At least five years of experience with ELT processes.
  • At least five years of experience with hybrid on-premises and cloud environments.
  • At least five years of experience with Microsoft Azure Data Services.
  • At least five years of experience with Microsoft Fabric.
  • At least five years of experience with Microsoft SQL Server.
  • At least five years of experience with modern data architectures.
  • At least five years of experience with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).
  • At least five years of experience with star schemas.
  • At least five years of experience with snowflake schemas.
  • At least five years of experience with T-SQL.
  • Dutch at C2 level.
  • French at C2 level.

A plus

  • Knowledge of Azure Data Factory.
  • Knowledge of Power BI.
  • Knowledge of Spark.
  • Knowledge of Python.
  • Knowledge of Git.
  • Knowledge of Azure DevOps.
  • Knowledge of Data Vault.
  • A bachelor's or master's in computer science, or equivalent experience.
  • At least five years of relevant experience in business intelligence, data engineering or data warehousing.
