A major Belgian financial institution is expanding its KYC capabilities across branches, mid-offices, and several banking brands in line with group guidelines, European and local regulations, and audit recommendations. As a Senior Business Analyst in the KYC Foundations squad, you will translate business needs into structured requirements, business processes, and testable solutions using requirements management and conceptual modelling techniques.
The mission
The KYC programme provides a common foundation for customer due diligence and related controls across multiple entities and brands. The work combines business analysis, IT delivery, process design, and testing, with requirements shaped by regulatory obligations, internal policies, and audit findings. You will work with Product Owners, architects, subject matter experts, developers, and testers throughout the delivery lifecycle.
As a senior business analyst in KYC, you will own a defined part of the squad’s analysis activities and ensure that business needs remain connected to the delivered solution. Your scope will include requirements elicitation, workflow analysis, use-case definition, traceability, and support for product, performance, and user acceptance testing. You will also act as a liaison between business stakeholders and technical delivery teams, helping them reach a shared understanding of the expected outcome.
Your responsibilities
- Lead the elicitation, analysis, and documentation of business, stakeholder, solution, and transition requirements.
- Design new or improved workflow processes and translate them into detailed product requirements and use cases.
- Manage requirements traceability to support impact analysis, coverage assessment, and controlled changes.
- Coordinate the transition of requirements to architects, designers, developers, and testers, resolving ambiguities early.
- Define test conditions and expected results with the testing teams for functional, performance, and user acceptance testing.
- Contribute to quality reviews of requirements, designs, prototypes, and other delivery artefacts.
Your profile
Essential skills
- At least 4 years of relevant experience as a Business Analyst, including hands-on KYC IT project experience rather than purely operational KYC work.
- Ability to analyse business needs, model concepts and processes, and produce clear, structured requirements.
- Practical experience with conceptual modelling techniques and methods, workflow processes, and requirements management.
- Good understanding of IT delivery and testing, including the translation of requirements into testable conditions.
- Strong IT conceptual and technical affinity, with the ability to work effectively with architects and technology teams.
- Proficiency in MS Office for analysis, documentation, and stakeholder communication.
- Structured, analytical, and independent working style, combined with strong stakeholder management, negotiation, communication, and attention to detail.
Preferred skills
- Experience working in a scaled agile environment.
- Previous experience within a large banking organisation or a KYC transformation programme.
