Job description
We are looking for a Senior Full Stack Developer / Tech Lead to design and deliver complex digital applications while remaining hands-on in back-end development. The mission covers scalable web applications, REST APIs, integrations and data-driven solutions in an AWS cloud environment. You will help shape the architecture and guide developers from technical analysis through deployment.
Your role
- Analyse requirements and turn them into technical solutions and well-founded architecture decisions.
- Develop back-end applications and REST APIs using Node.js, JavaScript and TypeScript.
- Contribute to web applications, including Angular single-page applications.
- Design data models and optimise application performance with PostgreSQL and MongoDB.
- Develop, deploy and maintain applications on AWS, using storage, authentication and integration services.
- Work with Git workflows, CI/CD pipelines and automated deployments of Docker-based applications.
- Code, test and debug applications through to delivery.
- Provide technical direction, coach developers and explain technical choices to stakeholders within an Agile development environment.
You have
- At least three years of experience in Agile teams.
- At least three years of experience with Jira or comparable tooling.
- At least five years of experience in application development.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated software deployments.
- Experience with Git workflows and version control.
- Experience with cloud services, such as object storage, authentication and integration services.
- Experience developing, deploying and maintaining applications on AWS.
- Experience using Docker in production environments.
- At least five years of experience with JavaScript.
- At least five years of back-end development experience with Node.js.
- Experience designing and developing REST APIs with Node.js.
- Experience with relational databases using PostgreSQL.
- Experience with NoSQL databases using MongoDB.
- Experience using TypeScript in a professional development environment.
- Experience in data modelling.
- Experience in performance optimisation.
- Dutch at C2 level.

- Experience providing technical leadership to development teams.
- Experience in coaching developers.
- Strong practical coding skills.
- Strong practical software testing skills.
- Strong practical debugging skills.
- Experience with authentication and identity platforms, such as Auth0, Azure AD or comparable solutions.
- Experience using Redis for caching, messaging or performance optimisation.
- Experience configuring and managing Nginx as a reverse proxy or application gateway.
- Experience with Elasticsearch.
- Experience with GIS applications, such as ArcGIS.
- Experience with container orchestration using Kubernetes.
- Experience developing modern single-page applications with Angular.
- Knowledge and experience of Agile development methods, including taking a leading role.
- Strong back-end development expertise.
- Experience applying DevOps practices.
- Sound understanding of software architecture.
- Ability to work out complex technical solutions independently.
- Ability to explain and justify technical decisions to stakeholders.
- Experience building scalable cloud-native applications.
