A major banking group is coordinating the evolution of products used by its credit-related business teams. As a Senior Product Owner, you will translate stakeholder and customer needs into a product roadmap, prioritised Product Backlog, and deliverable Sprint scope, working across business and development teams through Agile methodologies.
The mission
The role sits within a cross-functional Scrum team responsible for taking a product from business need to coherent, tested delivery. The technical landscape combines business analysis, development, testing, and stakeholder governance, with the credit domain providing the main business context. This work matters because clear product direction and consistent prioritisation allow delivery teams to focus on the functions that support the organisation's business objectives.
Your scope covers both product direction and day-to-day delivery decisions. You will understand the banking group's structure and the department's business environment, define functional priorities, manage dependencies, and connect business expectations with the team's Sprint objectives. You will also contribute to budget management and project management, ensuring that product decisions remain aligned with available resources and delivery commitments.
Your responsibilities
- Define the product vision and roadmap, then communicate the intended direction clearly to stakeholders and the development team.
- Prioritise and maintain the Product Backlog so that the highest-value business needs are ready for delivery.
- Translate business needs into clear functional specifications and acceptance expectations for each iteration.
- Align stakeholders on scope, priorities, and product decisions, resolving differences through structured negotiation.
- Participate actively in Scrum ceremonies, including Sprint planning, demonstrations, retrospectives, and test activities.
- Arbitrate on delivered functionality, adjust the Sprint Backlog when needed, and monitor product consistency, quality, budget, and project progress.
