Three Senior Technical Project Leader roles support a public-sector organisation managing application and infrastructure change across API gateways, legacy Java systems, cloud platforms and security services. The work includes containerising Axway API gateways and Adabas databases, evolving Spring Boot code bases, and coordinating cloud architecture across Kubernetes, OpenShift and public cloud environments.
The mission
The portfolio covers several technical workstreams, including the containerisation of API gateways and databases, the evolution and versioning of legacy Java applications, Google Cloud projects, cybersecurity and NIS2 compliance initiatives, and the implementation of IAM, secret management and Vault services. The projects connect application delivery with infrastructure, network architecture and security governance, using Agile, ITIL and Prince2 practices where appropriate.
As a senior technical project manager, you will manage the complete project lifecycle, from defining scenarios and approach plans through delivery and closure. You will establish schedules, budgets, scope and quality controls, coordinate internal and external stakeholders, and provide clear reporting on progress, risks and decisions. Your work will align technical teams, programme managers and business stakeholders so that each project delivers its intended infrastructure or application outcome.
Your responsibilities
- Lead technical projects from initiation to completion, maintaining control of scope, timing, budget and quality.
- Define delivery scenarios, project structures, detailed schedules and approach plans that translate technical requirements into executable work.
- Coordinate application, infrastructure, cloud, network and security contributors across interdependent workstreams.
- Govern risks, dependencies, service levels and compliance actions, including security gap analyses where required.
- Report progress, issues, decisions and forecasts to internal and external stakeholders using clear written and verbal communication.
- Coach project contributors, facilitate decisions and maintain effective collaboration throughout delivery.
