Software Developer Angular (Medior)

A public-sector IT organisation supports digital services for public administrations and institutions. Its frontend team is modernising a shared Angular design system, and this Angular frontend developer role develops accessible components, upgrades Angular 22, and improves testing, performance, and library delivery.

The mission:

The work has two linked goals. First, replace PrimeNG runtime components with reusable components based on semantic HTML5 and Angular CDK behaviour primitives. This includes presentation components, overlays and navigation, reactive form controls, and data tables. Second, upgrade the design system monorepo to Angular 22, using zoneless execution, advanced reactive signals, and compiler optimisations. The migration must support a smooth transition for consuming applications while meeting WCAG 2.1 Level AA.

You collaborate closely with a Team Leader, Frontend Architect, UX/UI specialists working with Figma design tokens, and application teams. The architecture, development standards, component scope, and migration priorities are defined before implementation. Your scope runs from technical analysis and architecture documentation through component development, refactoring, unit testing, packaging, and release validation. It also includes corrective and evolutionary maintenance. You simplify existing code, remove obsolete external dependencies, and check response times, memory behaviour, and OnPush lifecycle handling. Quality covers non-regression coverage, SonarQube rules, and accessibility compliance. You package the library with ng-packagr under Bun, publish it, and verify its behaviour in a showcase application and consumer runtime environments. You contribute to code reviews and help qualify, estimate, and break down work packages in the agile tracking tool. You give transparent feedback on assigned work and milestones. The library is shared across public services and integrated into dozens of business applications used by thousands of people.

Your responsibilities:

• Analyse functional specifications, migration requirements, and UI designs for technical implementation choices.
• Upgrade the component library monorepo to Angular 22 and adapt existing components.
• Replace PrimeNG with accessible semantic HTML5 and Angular CDK components.
• Develop presentation, overlay, navigation, reactive form, and data table components.
• Write and validate Vitest unit tests with JSDOM in zoneless environments.
• Optimise rendering, memory use, OnPush lifecycles, and maintainability through refactoring.
• Validate Bun and ng-packagr packaging, publication, and behaviour in consumer applications.

• Medior experience developing Angular frontends and maintaining component libraries.
