A public health institution is expanding its ICT architecture practice, with this senior Solution Architect role focused on secure, scalable systems and public services. You will guide .NET solution architecture across C# / .NET, .NET Core, Blazor and related Microsoft technologies while the organisation moves towards a cloud-native technology landscape.

The ICT organisation brings together more than 250 experts across over 50 active projects. Its strategic transformation includes Azure, containers, confidential computing and Infrastructure-as-Code, alongside established Microsoft .NET applications, SQL data stores, REST API integrations and legacy services. The architecture work supports public health services where security, availability, performance and regulatory compliance are essential.
You will translate business and technical requirements into solution architectures that development teams can implement and maintain. Your scope covers architecture documentation, technology selection, system integration, prototypes, governance and technical guidance, with regular communication across technical and non-technical stakeholder groups.
Your responsibilities
- Define solution architectures that meet functional requirements and non-functional requirements for security, performance, availability and scalability.
- Select appropriate frameworks, tools and patterns across Microsoft .NET, .NET Core, C# / .NET, Blazor, MVC and Entity Framework.
- Establish architecture documents, diagrams, standards and guidelines that create consistency across projects and support informed technical decisions.
- Lead technical direction through coaching and mentoring, helping development teams apply the agreed architecture and maintain software quality.
- Design integrations between applications, REST API services, third-party platforms and legacy systems, including environments that use WCF.
- Evaluate prototypes and emerging technologies, then support governance, compliance and the practical adoption of suitable solutions.

Essential skills
- Bring senior experience in solution architecture, with the ability to connect technical choices to business and service objectives.
- Design and assess applications built with C# / .NET, Microsoft .NET, .NET Core and .NET 10.
- Apply Blazor, MVC and Entity Framework appropriately within maintainable application architectures.
- Architect REST API integrations and work effectively with SQL data stores, WCF services, third-party systems and legacy platforms.
- Use TFS and Git to support source control, collaboration and software delivery practices.
- Document and communicate architecture decisions clearly to developers, project stakeholders and non-technical audiences.
- Guide teams through complex technical decisions while maintaining a structured, quality-focused and pragmatic approach.
- Anticipate risks related to security, availability, performance and compliance, and address them early in the design process.
