Within the Technical Equipment division of a Facility Management organisation, this Subject Matter Expert FAC role supports the optimisation of electrical and data infrastructure across office buildings and branches. The initial focus is SQL and Python data analysis, using Pandas, Matplotlib and Power BI to create reliable reporting and dashboards, with a gradual move into smart lighting and building management systems.

The mission

The team combines technical data management for building infrastructure with electrical systems, intelligent lighting, GTB installations and IT networks. Current work standardises data collection, reporting and visualisation to track technical performance and energy consumption. The landscape includes SQL sources and basic network concepts such as VLANs, IP addressing and switches. Training will extend the role towards PLC, KNX and DALI automation and GTB interfaces.

As a junior Subject Matter Expert FAC, you will extract, clean and analyse data, then automate recurring reports. You will work with IT, electrical and facility specialists to connect existing systems, create technical alarms from energy and contact signals, and translate operational needs into maintainable solutions. Your deliverables support daily monitoring and the modernisation of electrical, data and automation infrastructure.

Your responsibilities

  • Structure and validate technical and energy datasets so reports use consistent, traceable information.
  • Develop SQL queries and Python workflows with Pandas and Matplotlib to automate recurring analyses and reporting.
  • Create Power BI reports and dashboards for energy performance and technical status, giving stakeholders usable views of key indicators.
  • Integrate data from existing GTB systems with IT teams and create or transfer technical alarms based on energy and contact information.
  • Support reviews of intelligent lighting, data cabling and IT networks by applying VLAN, IP and switch fundamentals and reading technical schematics.
  • Progress through training towards PLC, KNX and DALI projects and graphical GTB interfaces.

Your profile

Essential skills

  • Bring 1 to 2 years of experience in business intelligence, or informatique décisionnelle, IT networks or technical data management, including an internship or first role.
  • Query and join data with SQL, and build Python workflows using Pandas and Matplotlib.
  • Create Power BI reports and dashboards and interpret performance or consumption trends.
  • Apply basic IT networking concepts, including VLANs, IP addressing and switches.
  • Use MS Office, advanced Excel, Visio and AutoCAD to organise data and read technical schematics.
  • Show interest in tertiary electrical systems, intelligent lighting, energy consumption and smart buildings.
  • Translate operational needs into simple technical solutions, apply structured problem-solving, work rigorously and autonomously, and communicate clearly with IT, electrical and facility colleagues.

Preferred skills

  • Use Tableau or Grafana for data visualisation.
  • Have exposure to industrial automation, PLC, KNX, DALI, GTB or graphical building management interfaces.
  • Understand cloud services such as Azure or AWS and APIs used for data integration.

Languages

  • French: C2, fluent.
  • English: B1 or higher, sufficient to read technical documentation.
  • Dutch: A2 passive understanding, or willingness to learn.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, electromechanics or equivalent experience, with an interest in smart buildings.
