A public-sector digital services organisation is delivering and maintaining applications for child and family health programmes, including digital child records, prenatal social records, vaccination data and appointment planning. This Java Angular developer role combines backend and frontend delivery with Angular 21, Angular Material, Spring Boot and Java, including offline-capable web functionality for professionals working in the field. The role covers both new features and the maintenance of existing applications used in essential public services.
The mission
The programme brings together applications for managing a child’s medical-social record from birth to age six, prenatal social follow-up, vaccination data exchange and cross-service appointment planning. Several applications must work online and offline or in degraded mode, making local browser storage part of the technical design. The technical landscape includes Angular 21, Angular Material, Java 8/JEE 7 and Java 21, Spring Boot, JPA, REST/OpenAPI, DB2, MySQL and Flyway, with Apache Maven, Git/GitLab CI/CD, Nexus and Docker supporting builds and delivery. Work is planned across new development, corrective maintenance and functional evolution through the end of 2027.
As a medior full-stack developer working across several applications, you will follow programme priorities and contribute to both project delivery and application maintenance. You will translate functional analysis into backend Java and frontend Angular components, while considering dependencies with existing services and data structures. Your changes will move through unit and integration testing, code review, deployment validation and technical documentation. Daily collaboration takes place with developers, functional analysts, testers and technical leads within a SCRUM delivery process.
Your responsibilities
- Design technical components with functional analysts and technical leads, aligning each solution with the defined architecture and coding standards.
- Build backend Java and frontend Angular modules that support reliable case management, vaccination and appointment workflows.
- Implement offline-capable web functionality using IndexedDB, Dexie and Service Worker where application requirements require local access.
- Strengthen software quality through unit and integration tests with JUnit and Mockito, code reviews and clear technical documentation.
- Improve maintainability and performance through refactoring, Flyway database migrations and upgrades to libraries and frameworks.
- Deliver validated releases through Docker-based GitLab CI/CD pipelines, while following deployment processes and Scrum commitments.
