A public administration organisation is modernising several information tools that support its benefits processes and continuity of services. As a Senior .NET Developer on a .NET 10 migration project, you will build ASP.NET Web API and Blazor applications with secure authentication and maintainable data access through Entity Framework Core.
The mission
The programme covers several essential information tools that support the organisation’s benefits service and related business processes. Existing Microsoft solutions are being rewritten or migrated towards .NET 10, with ASP.NET Web API, REST, Swagger/OpenAPI, SQL Server and Entity Framework Core in the target landscape. The work will modernise these applications while maintaining reliable, secure and maintainable services throughout the transition.
Your day-to-day scope will run from functional analysis to implementation and maintenance. You will work with business analysts and the architecture team to turn requirements into scalable solutions, including ASP.NET Web API, Blazor and MVC components, and apply authentication and authorization with JWT, OIDC and claims. As the senior developer, you will guide colleagues, review code, assess performance and connect testing and engineering decisions to the broader migration.
Your responsibilities
- Design and deliver scalable application components in C# and .NET 10, including ASP.NET Web API, Blazor and MVC solutions.
- Translate functional requirements into maintainable REST APIs and document their contracts with Swagger/OpenAPI.
- Implement and strengthen authentication and authorization using JWT, OIDC and claims-based access controls.
- Build and tune data access with Entity Framework Core and SQL Server, improving application performance where required.
- Validate software quality through unit and integration testing, code reviews and consistent development practices.
- Mentor developers, collaborate with analysts and architects, and evaluate technical options that support the migration objectives.

Essential skills
- Bring senior-level experience designing, developing and maintaining Microsoft-based software solutions.
- Develop production applications in C# and .NET, with practical experience across .NET Framework, .NET Core and .NET 10.
- Design maintainable APIs and web applications using ASP.NET Web API, REST, Blazor and MVC.
- Apply authentication and authorization concepts, including JWT, OIDC and claims.
- Work effectively with Entity Framework Core and SQL Server for reliable persistence and data access.
- Use Swagger/OpenAPI to describe and support API integration.
- Apply unit and integration testing for .NET applications and use code reviews to improve quality and maintainability.
- Analyse requirements critically, structure technical problems, propose viable alternatives and draw clear conclusions.
- Provide technical leadership through mentoring and code reviews, while remaining collaborative and adaptable when technical or contextual priorities change.
