A Belgian public-sector social security organisation is hiring a medior Test Coordinator and Test Analyst for one of 10 development teams in an IT service of more than 150 people. The role combines 30% test coordination with 70% hands-on test analysis across functional, non-functional and end-to-end testing. You will work with SQL, XML, JSON, SOAP and REST API testing in an Agile/Scrum environment, supported by Azure DevOps and tools such as SoapUI, ReadyAPI or Postman.
The mission
The team has 12 members covering product ownership, Scrum Master responsibilities, business analysis, development, DevOps and testing. The team includes Dutch- and French-speaking colleagues and delivers changes through Scrum. Testing covers internal ICT validation, end-to-end flows and business acceptance, linking technical implementation to the requirements of the social security organisation.
Your split will be approximately 30% Test Coordinator and 70% Test Analyst. You will define the test approach, acceptance criteria, scenarios, cases and data for new developments, then execute functional and non-functional tests. You will coordinate acceptance activities with stakeholders outside the team, guide one or two testers on a daily basis and follow corrections with developers and analysts. You will report test progress and quality findings transparently to the team and business.
Your responsibilities
- Define test strategies and acceptance criteria that reflect technical dependencies and business requirements.
- Coordinate internal, end-to-end and business acceptance testing across testers, developers, analysts and stakeholders.
- Execute functional, API, performance and other non-functional tests, using prepared data and relevant test tools.
- Build and maintain regression scenarios, identifying repetitive coverage suitable for test automation.
- Analyse results, document defects and follow corrections through to verified resolution.
- Coach one or two testers and provide clear reporting on test progress and software quality.
Your profile
Essential skills
- Bring at least 5 years of experience as a Test Analyst and 3 years as a Test Coordinator.
- Translate technical environments and functional requirements into test strategies, scenarios, test cases and test data.
- Write complex SQL queries and work accurately with XML and JSON.
- Perform API testing with SOAP and REST API, as well as non-functional testing such as performance testing.
- Work with Azure DevOps and tools such as SoapUI, ReadyAPI, Postman or equivalent.
- Apply test methodologies and standards such as ISTQB or TMap in an Agile/Scrum environment.
- Communicate clearly with technical specialists, business users and stakeholders, while working autonomously and taking initiative.
- Use analytical, organisational and coaching skills to maintain quality and coordinate testing activities.
Preferred skills
- Hold an ISTQB certification.
- Bring experience with Playwright or a comparable test automation tool.

- Dutch: C2 or native-level proficiency when Dutch is your primary language, and B2 or higher when it is your second national language.
- French: C2 or native-level proficiency when French is your primary language, and B2 or higher when it is your second national language.
