A major Belgian insurance organisation is strengthening quality governance in its IS Life division, where project teams deliver business applications subject to operational and regulatory requirements. As a senior Test Manager, you will define test strategies, coordinate testing across the project lifecycle, and use Azure DevOps to manage test cases, execution, and defects.
The mission
The IS Life division manages a portfolio of insurance projects involving business stakeholders, analysts, developers, test engineers, project teams, and management. The Test Manager establishes a consistent approach to planning, executing, and reporting tests so that delivered solutions meet business and regulatory requirements. Azure DevOps is used for dashboards, work items, test case preparation and execution, and defect follow-up.
Your day-to-day scope runs from test strategy and plan definition through execution, quality reporting, and closure. You will monitor progress and test results, analyse quality metrics and risks, facilitate defect resolution, and communicate testing progress and recommendations through Power BI. The role combines hands-on software testing and test management with coordination and governance across IS, business, and management stakeholders.
Your responsibilities
- Define and implement test strategies and comprehensive test plans for major insurance projects within IS Life.
- Coordinate all testing phases, align contributors, and maintain visibility of test readiness and delivery status.
- Use Azure DevOps to prepare and execute test cases, manage work items, create defects, and track resolution.
- Monitor test execution, analyse results, and report quality metrics, risks, and recommendations to stakeholders and management.
- Facilitate defect management by clarifying priorities, following up on corrective actions, and supporting timely resolution.
- Improve testing methodologies, quality standards, and governance practices across the IS Life portfolio.
Your profile
Essential skills
- Bring at least 5 years of experience in test management and functional software testing across project deliveries.
- Apply a structured understanding of the testing lifecycle, including planning, execution, defect management, quality metrics, and reporting.
- Hold an ISTQB Foundation certification.
- Use Azure DevOps confidently for dashboards, work items, test case preparation, test case execution, defect creation, and follow-up.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with testing teams, IS teams, business stakeholders, and management.
- Demonstrate analytical, organisational, leadership, proactive, accurate, and collaborative working practices.
Preferred skills
- Use Power BI at junior level to structure and generate reports, and understand how report data is refreshed and maintained.
- Apply Agile and Waterfall project delivery methodologies.
- Bring knowledge of the insurance domain and broader IT operations.
