This senior UX designer role supports a digital delivery organisation that builds and maintains user-facing applications and websites. The work focuses on understanding users, designing mobile-first interfaces in Figma and Axure, and maintaining a shared design system so product teams can deliver consistent, accessible experiences. You will work across discovery, prototyping, validation, and implementation with analysts, developers, clients, and project teams.
The mission
Applications are developed through a collaborative process involving UX, analysis, and software development. The UX practice is strengthening the design system, including its components, patterns, and guidelines, so that interfaces remain consistent, reusable, accessible, and current. Accessibility is assessed against WCAG 2.1 and considered throughout the design process. This work gives teams a common basis for building applications that reflect user needs and operating environments.
Your scope covers the full UX cycle, from needs analysis and user research to low- and high-fidelity prototyping and support during implementation. You will select research methods, help recruit participants, and gather evidence through interviews, surveys, focus groups, and usability testing. You will translate findings into mobile-first interface proposals and work with analysts and developers to ensure the delivered application meets the agreed user requirements. You will also contribute to the ongoing governance and evolution of the design system.

- Apply WCAG 2.1 and relevant UX and UI standards to interface and visual design decisions.
- Communicate research findings, design rationale, and implementation guidance clearly to clients and project teams.
