An organisation with a portfolio of digital applications and websites is maintaining and extending a shared design system across its user experience work. As a Senior UX Designer, you will combine user research, Figma, and Axure to turn user and business needs into accessible interfaces while keeping components, patterns, and guidelines consistent across products. The role covers the full design cycle, from research and mobile-first prototyping to collaboration with analysts and developers, with WCAG 2.1 as a practical design requirement.
The mission
The design system supports multiple applications and websites through reusable components, patterns, and guidance. Its maintenance and development include defining and updating shared assets, checking accessibility, and helping product teams apply them correctly. This work matters because consistent interaction patterns and accessible visual design make requirements easier to translate into interfaces users can understand and use.
You will participate in needs analysis and build an evidence-based understanding of users, their tasks, and their working environment. You will plan research methods, help recruit participants, and collect evidence through interviews, surveys, focus groups, and usability tests. You will create mobile-first low-fidelity and high-fidelity prototypes, then work with analysts and developers to verify that delivered applications meet user requirements. Regular communication with clients and project colleagues will connect design decisions to implementation.
Your responsibilities
- Maintain and evolve the design system by keeping components, patterns, and guidelines consistent, accessible, documented, and current.
- Translate findings from user research and needs analysis into clear interaction flows and interface requirements.
- Plan research methods and recruit suitable participants to produce evidence for design decisions.
- Create and validate mobile-first low-fidelity and high-fidelity prototypes using appropriate design and collaboration tools.
- Guide analysts and developers through interface decisions, and identify gaps between the intended and delivered user experience.
- Communicate design rationale clearly with clients and project teams throughout the delivery process.
