A Belgian banking organisation is expanding its Concept & UX Chapter to support digital customer experiences across web and mobile Easy Banking channels for residential customers and internal employee tools. As a UX Researcher, you will plan and conduct qualitative UX research, including user testing, and turn findings into clear recommendations for the Daily Banking design team.
The mission
The Concept & UX Chapter works within an agile delivery model, involving target audiences throughout discovery, design and development. The work covers a banking environment in Belgium, with research supporting both customer-facing digital products and internal employee tools. Projects may require mixed research methods for digital customer experiences, from interviews and usability tests to card sorting and diary studies.
You will be embedded in the Daily Banking design team and collaborate with Concept and UX/UI Designers, Product Owners and Business Analysts. Your scope will cover the full research cycle, from intake and research planning to participant recruitment, test execution, analysis and stakeholder debriefing. You will also help develop the chapter's research practice by introducing suitable frameworks and testing approaches.
Your responsibilities
- Shape research tracks for strategic projects, aligning research objectives with product and design decisions from project kick-off.
- Select and apply appropriate user research methodologies in a User Experience design context, based on the project question, target audience and delivery stage.
- Prepare research plans, test materials, participant recruitment, dry runs and practical arrangements for interviews and user tests.
- Conduct qualitative interviews and user testing while managing observers and maintaining a consistent research approach.
- Analyse data and translate findings into understandable reports, actionable recommendations and clear presentations for project stakeholders.
- Strengthen the chapter's research capability by documenting methods, organising insight archives and sharing good practice with project teams.
Your profile
Essential skills
- Bring at least 3 years of relevant experience as a UX Researcher, with a medior level of autonomy.
- Apply qualitative UX research techniques such as user interviews, user testing, card sorting and diary study methods.
- Analyse qualitative data, identify meaningful patterns and produce reports at the level of detail required by the project.
- Understand how to plan and deliver research across discovery and evaluative design phases.
- Have experience working in a corporate environment and managing communication with multiple stakeholders.
- Communicate findings clearly, influence design and product decisions, and work proactively with multidisciplinary teams.
Preferred skills
- Experience with mixed research methods, Agile delivery and unmoderated testing techniques.
- Familiarity with AI tools that support research planning, analysis or synthesis.
- Previous experience in a banking environment or with digital banking channels.
Languages
- Dutch: C2 or native level, preferred for bilingual research delivery.
- French: C2 or native level, required in at least one of Dutch or French for interviews, test materials and client communication.
- English: C1 or fluent written and spoken level for stakeholder communication and research reports.
Education
- Bachelor's or Master's degree, or equivalent experience, in psychology, sociology, anthropology, Human-Centred Design, product design or a related field.
