Digital products used by a broad customer base are being refined through clearer, more consistent interface content. As a French UX Writer, you will shape microcopy across the customer journey, from buttons and titles to error messages and instructions, while applying UX Writing techniques and contributing to a shared design system.
The mission
The organisation develops and maintains digital products with cross-functional design, product and development teams. UX copy is created and refined throughout the full delivery cycle, from ideation and refinement through to implementation. The work matters because clear interface content helps users understand what to do, recover from errors and complete their journeys with less friction. You will also help establish UX Writing guidelines in the design system so that content remains consistent across products.
Your scope covers French-language copy for user interfaces and complete customer journeys. You will work with UX and UI designers, product experts, developers and other UX Writers to integrate content directly into designs and delivered features. You will rephrase copy prepared by Dutch-speaking colleagues, update the content database and use feedback from user tests to improve the final result. Your portfolio will demonstrate how you have applied UX Writing principles in real products.
Your responsibilities
- Create clear, concise and user-focused UI copy for buttons, titles, instructions, error messages and complete interaction flows.
- Shape French UX copy throughout ideation, refinement and delivery, ensuring that content supports product and design objectives.
- Improve copy using findings from user tests, stakeholder feedback and your understanding of the full customer journey.
- Contribute to the design system by documenting UX Writing guidelines and helping UX copywriters apply them consistently.
- Collaborate with designers, product experts and developers to integrate content accurately into designs and digital products.
- Maintain the content database and rephrase Dutch source copy in French while preserving meaning, tone and usability.
Your profile
Essential skills
- Bring at least 6 years of relevant experience as a UX Writer, digital copywriter or in a closely related role.
- Apply UX Writing techniques confidently and provide a strong portfolio with concrete UX Writing examples.
- Understand how interface copy supports a complete customer journey, not only individual screens or components.
- Explain and defend content recommendations while remaining open to user, stakeholder and team feedback.
- Work independently and accurately, with close attention to detail, consistency and delivery quality.
- Collaborate effectively with designers, developers, product experts and fellow UX Writers.
- Offer alternative copy solutions when trade-offs require further discussion with stakeholders.
- Approach constraints constructively and balance user needs, product objectives and project deadlines.
Preferred skills
- Apply UX & UI fundamentals when adapting content to layouts and interaction patterns.
- Understand mobile first principles and their impact on concise, responsive UX copy.
- Have worked with a design system, user tests, accessibility and inclusivity practices.
- Understand the design process and previous collaboration with design teams.
