A Belgian public-sector organisation develops and supports digital services used by public administrations, education stakeholders, professionals and citizens. As a UX/UI Designer focused on UX research, you will help establish a structured, reusable approach to understanding users, testing services and improving interfaces, with accessibility and a Design System as important reference points.
The mission
Administrative simplification is driving the development of digital services for a broad range of users. They include public-sector staff, education stakeholders, teachers, artists, sports professionals and citizens. Their needs, constraints and familiarity with digital services vary, so teams need a proportionate way to choose research and design activities. The organisation also audits the accessibility of the interfaces it provides, maintains a Design System and draws on previous project-specific UX studies.
You will contribute to a cross-service UX initiative covering internal business applications and services for the general public. You will map audiences, investigate their needs, uses and constraints, and help teams choose between light, standard and in-depth UX support. Light support can rely on known users, good practice and existing Design System patterns. Standard support can add targeted research or user testing. In-depth support applies to new services, broad audiences or complex journeys. You will turn research findings into practical guidance for UX and non-UX colleagues. Expected outputs include audience and persona references, a UX assessment grid, a catalogue of methods with templates, a testing and measurement approach, and recommendations for the Design System.
